I shot these just after Europe and meant to post them but never did...this ceremony was on actual Memorial Day, the weekend after the Monday we all get work off.

Rodin Gardens

Across the street from Napoleon Bonaparte's tomb is the Rodin museum, with the Rodin gardens behind it. For one euro, we skipped the museum but strolled through the walls of Ivy and statues where the famous "Thinker," can be found.

Versailles

Louis XIV lived in the palace of Versailles in 1682 until he and the royal family was forced out. Today Versailles is a suburb of Paris, with the palace standing as a symbol of absolute monarchy.

This sweet little garden in saint germain des pres captured my heart.

Eiffel at Night

On our third night in Paris Chris and I had a picnic under the Eiffel Tower with our roommates from the hostel. An eclectic mix of 20-somethings from around the world, we camped on the grass in bare feet with baguettes, cheese, cheap wine, and chocolate from the market and watched the sun go down as the Eiffel lit up.

Eiffel During the Day

After climbing to the top of the Eiffel Tower (which is even bigger and cooler in real life than you think it's going to be), Chris and I sunbathed in the park directly below, resting our feet (top photo), and listening to a frenchman sing a wonderful rendition of "Wonderwall."
